There are two main ways to experience Activate—the Member view and the Admin view. As a workplace admin, it's good to feel comfortable with both so you can give the best experience for your Members in the app. We'll take a quick look at each.
The Member view
The Member view is how everyone experiences VTS Activate. Once you join a Channel, you can see content, interact with events and offerings, and stay in the loop with your community. Anyone can join Activate and check out public Channels to see what's out there.
The Admin view
The Admin view's where you make, maintain, and analyze everything you can serve up to Members. It's where you'll find everything from the Content Builder to Insights and reports that help you track engagement and interactions across your platform.
💡 Note: Only Workplace Admin teams can see the Admin view. If you need access, reach out to your partner at VTS. |
You can switch between the Member view and the Admin view whenever you want by using the Channel selector at the top right.
Each Channel has its own Admin view, so you'll need to make sure you've got the right one selected before you switch. You can only switch to the Admin view for Channels where you're actually the Admin—if you're not an Admin, the option won't appear in the selector. You can always double check where you are by looking at the selector in the corner.
The mobile Admin view
Most of the time you'll want to be on desktop to get the most out of the Admin view, but you can still do some tasks on your mobile device, too. A good example is checking the interactions on a piece of content while you're on the go.
To switch to the Admin view on mobile:
- Tap the user profile icon.
- Select switch workplace.
- Switch to the right Channel, if you need to.
- Tap the Admin button.
Once you're there, you can view the content in the channel, scan QR codes, or check the statuses on your interactive content.
You can control who can see the mobile Admin view in Team Management:
- In the Admin view, head to User Management, then Teams.
- Select a Team, then click the Edit Permissions icon.
- Under Permissions, click the Portal dropdown.
- Check This user is an admin-like user that can access the admin portal on mobile.
- Click Save.
To switch back to the Member view on mobile:
- Tap the user profile icon.
- Select switch workplace.
- Select the Channel name, NOT the Admin button.
