What are Resetting Events?
When offering an event on a regular basis, such as a weekly or monthly event that requires members to register, you can save time and effort by creating a single Post or Page, and using the Time Reset feature to automate the registration process.
How are Resetting Events created?
The Time Reset feature is used to change all previous registrations to a closed status and accept new registrations until the next reset period.
Interactive Post: If the recurring event has an end date (such as a weekly social on Fridays for the month of July) then create a Post that has a start and end date of July 1 to the 31st. Set the Time Reset after the first event, and it will reset until the Post end date is reached.
Interactive Page: If the recurring event does not have an end date, (such as a monthly or annual parking pass registration/renewal) then create a Page. Set the Time Reset for after the first month/year, and it will reset every month or year indefinitely.
The following template can be used as a basis for a Resetting Event:
The main feature of this scenario is Time Reset, but other interactive features work together:
Time Reset: This controls how often the previous interactions are set to Closed, and new interactions are allowed.
Quantity: This controls the total number of spaces/tickets/seats available for reservation during the time reset period.
The main purpose of a recurring event is to get members to sign up for each event they plan to attend.
The Data Inputs should be based on the information you need from them:
Name, company, and contact details of the member,
For a bicycle or automobile parking pass, details and information about the bike or car.
For this scenario, Workflow messages can be created to communicate important information with the member each time they register:
Confirmation of each time they register
Send a reminder before the event starts,
Send a thank you and a post-event survey after the event is over.
