Pages collect and display content that doesn't usually change or expire. They're great for building information, amenities, and other static parts of your building experience—things that members can pull up whenever they need. In this guide, we'll explore the benefits of Pages and how you can set basic Pages up yourself.
Pages
Pages are the best way to share information that doesn't change often or expire. You can use them for building amenities like room bookings, workplace procedures and guidelines, retail and restaurant profiles in the area, and anything else that your members have unchanging access to.
Just like Posts, Pages can be interactive–collect information, enable purchases, or use reservations to engage your members in different ways.
Making the card
Whenever you want to make a new Post, click the + New Content button, then choose Page.
The first step—the Info step—is to enter some basic information and create the card that'll show up for your members to interact with. There are three styles you can choose—hero, horizontal, and standard.
Enter your title and description and choose an image—you can use anything already in your library or upload a new photo. Add a subtitle if you want to display more information on the card. Once everything looks how you like, choose a category to help you gather analytics on your content. Note that the Info card title is limited to 44 characters, including spaces. The description is limited to 255 characters, including spaces.
Under Data collection, Category is used for Insights & Reports. Categorizing your content is the best way to gauge its effectiveness—you can see a breakdown in Insights & Reports. Tags are used to place content into Dynamic Sections.
Editing your Page
Whether you use one of VTS' templates or build your own Page from scratch, the most important step is using Activate's content builder to make every Page your own. Everything you need is in the Editor stage.
Drag or double-click the content blocks on the left to add elements to your Page, then edit or move them around to build your Page. You can use the block outline on the right to keep track of everything at a glance.
If you want to engage your members, use Activate's interactive features to add things like reservable items, payments, or calendar elements. You can find the interactive toggle above the content blocks.
💡 Use a template to get the hang of things, or visit our guides that cover every last feature in the content builder. |
Targeting
Once you've made your Page, you'll choose who should see it in the Targeting step.
By default, the Page will display for your whole channel, but you can unselect this option and send the content to a specific team, tenant, or even another channel, if you're an admin of several. You can check how many people will see the message at the top to make sure your content is going to the right audience.
Displaying Pages
Because Pages are less temporary, you'll publish them differently than Notices or Posts. Once you've published a Page, you can find it in the Page Center. Add it to sections or tabs so members can see it on the channel.
To add a Page to a dynamic section, make sure it's labeled with the right category, and that the section is set up to collect content with that category automatically. If you're adding a Page to a static section, just click the Add Page button, then make your selection.
Tabs are usually set up when you join Activate. If you need to change which Pages display on your tabs, reach out to your partner at VTS.
