When you join Activate, you'll need to enter some basic info to verify your purchases, interactions, and messaging. Once you do, you can control how and when you get your notifications. In this guide, we'll see how you can add and update your contact info in Activate.
And don't worry—VTS never shares your contact info with anyone.
Verify your email
Everyone has to enter their work email to join Activate—it validates your account and gives you somewhere for your notifications to go. In some cases, you might have to manually validate your email in the app to set up your account. To do so:
- Head to the user profile.
- If you're on mobile, select account settings.
- Tap or click unverified to send yourself an email.
- Use the link in the email to validate your account.
If your email doesn't say unverified next to it, you're good to go.
You can add as many emails as you like, but make sure you pick the right one to be your primary email by selecting it in the user profile.
Add a phone number
Adding a phone number helps you stay in the loop and get important information on purchases and promotions. You can add a phone number in the user profile. If you're on mobile, you'll find it under account settings.
However you add your number, you'll get a text message with a code you can use to verify the number with Activate.
Update a phone number
If you have a new number, you'll need to delete the old one in Activate before you add the new one. Head to the user profile—on mobile, choose account settings—find the number, then select the X next to it to delete the number. Once it's gone, you can add a new number and get it verified with Activate.
You can set up different notification settings for every Channel you join. For each Channel, you can get emails, push notifications, and text messages.
Because it's Channel-specific, make sure you're on the right channel, then choose the settings icon.
On mobile, head to the user profile, then tap workplace settings to make your selections under notifications.
