What are Events with Guests?
Events are a great way to engage members to sign up for the app and attend a function or soiree that interests them. By allowing members to add guests, you can increase attendance and engagement.
Guests can be other members or external people invited through email.
How are Events with Guests created?
An event has a start and end date. In order to allow members to register and add their guests, the type of content to use is:
An Interactive Post - when you want members to register, provide information, invite guests and more.
The following Activate template can be used as a basis for an Event with Invite Guests:
The following are examples of interactive features can be enabled:
Invite Guests: allows members to invite other members or external people as their guests through email.
Quantity: controls how many tickets/seats/spaces are available for members to reserve or purchase for the event.
Number of entries: controls how many times a member can register/purchase/submit interactions for the event during the time period.
Reservable: allows members to pick a time slot, or select a range of dates and times to attend the event.
Payment: allows members to purchase a ticket or make a payment for the event.
If the event requires registration, it would be created as an interactive Post. A variety of data inputs allow you to configure what information members need to provide in order to register for the event.
Name and contact information,
Company they work for, the property they work at,
Names and emails of invited guests (using the Invite Guests feature),
Dietary concerns, accessibility requests, and other comments.
You can create Workflows which automate the communication with the registered member and their guests.
Workflow messages can be created for a variety of situations:
Confirmation of registration
Confirmation of payment
Send directions and instructions to invited guests
Send a reminder before the event starts,
Send a thank you and a post-event survey after the event is over.
Member registrations can be viewed in the Table tab of the content item. Here you can view registrations list of guests, update the status, and download the results as a CSV file.
