Notices are quick, short pieces of content. They're a great way to share important updates or time-sensitive information at a glance. In this guide, we'll look at each step in the Notice creation process.
Using Notices
Notices are simple and direct—they don't have any images or interactive elements—so they're a good way to get information across quickly and cleanly. You can use them for emergency building alerts or maintenance issues, but you can also use them for quick messages about food, events, and notices around the workplace.
Most of the time, they'll display by default on the Home tab of your Channel. Since they're highly visible and flexible, it's a good idea to decide as a workplace or a team how and when you want to use them so your workplace members know what to expect.
Draft a Notice
Whenever you want to make a Notice, click the + New Content button and pick Notice.
Once you're ready, you can configure your message on the Draft step:
- Enter your Title (75 characters) and Description (255 characters). These will be the heading and the text content of your message.
- Use the dropdown if you want to add a signature with your contact—this is called a Message card. Choosing Notice card removes the signature.
- Configure your subtitle—date, none, or some custom text. If you choose date, you'll configure the end time in the next step.
- Pick your color. The text color will automatically switch from white to black for contrast.
And that's it—it only takes a few seconds to craft a quick message for your teams.
When you're ready, you can Save your Notice for later or click Next.
Targeting
Once you've made your Notice, you'll choose who should see it.
In the Targeting step, select who you want to see the Notice. By default, the Notice will go to your whole channel, but you can unselect this option and send the Notice to a specific team, tenant, or other channel, if you're an admin of several. You can check how many people will see the message to make sure your content is going to the right audience.
When you're done, Save the Notice or click Next.
Publish
For Notices, configure when you want the Notice to publish and which, if any, notifications you want to use. You can use the dropdowns to choose which dates and times you want to the Notice to both publish and unpublish.
To add a notification, click the + Set up another notification button.
The default time and date will be the publish date you chose, but you can add and configure as many notifications as you like. Use the same text for repeat notifications, or make a series with different messages. See our guide to Notifications for more information.
Once everything's set, click the Save button. Your Notice is all ready, and the members on your Channel will see it as soon as it goes live.
