Notifications are messages sent to members based on the date and time you select when you make some new content. They automatically help your members log in to the app, stay updated with events around the property, and communicate anything else you need. This guide helps you configure your notifications for any content you've got planned.
Configuring notifications
Add notifications to Notices or Posts to automatically send messages to members—you'll always find them in the Publish step.
Just click the + Add notification button, write your custom message, publish your content, and you're good to go. You can always delete a notification if you change your mind.
At your chosen time, everyone targeted in the content will get a perfectly formatted message to whichever channels they have enabled in their notification settings:
- Email: pre-formatted notifications sent to your inbox
- Push: in-app push notifications on your mobile device
- SMS: simple text messages—international rates may apply
If you have a white-label for your VTS Activate app, your members will see your custom branding instead.
Common issues
Sometimes you and your members might not get notifications like you expected. Here are a few things to try.
Channel settings
Make sure your channel settings match what you'd like to receive. Click the gear icon at the top of the screen and select or deselect the methods you want to use.
Device notifications
On your workplace app, make sure you have notifications enabled—check the notification settings of your mobile device to be certain.
Email verification
Notifications only send to verified emails. You can check your user profile settings—you'll be prompted to verify in the login management section if you haven't already.
Delete and reinstall
If all else fails, you can always delete and reinstall the app for a fresh start—everything in your account will be the same as soon as you log in.
Sending notifications from white-labels
If you have a white-label for your VTS Activate app, you'll want your notifications to have the right branding and appearance. To make sure you do, always send your notifications from content on the white-label's URL, not the general Activate URL. Activate's URL is activate.vts.com—white-labels follow the format app.white-label-name.com. Both versions will look the same from the admin view, so be sure to check in your browser before you publish or set up new notifications.
