QR Code Scanning is an interactive feature that lets an admin scan and change the status of something through the Mobile Admin View. We'll cover how to set up and configure your scanning setup in this guide.
QR code scanning
Scan QR codes in the mobile admin view. It's great for tracking attendance or workflow progress. Here's a step by step walkthrough.
- Go to the Mobile Admin view of a channel where you're an admin.
- Go to the Edit tab and select the interactive content to scan.
- Select the QR code icon in the top right corner and start the scanner.
- Scan the QR Code of a member's interaction receipt.
Once you scan the QR code, the status will automatically update based on the way you've configured the feature. You can close out items based on attendance or create in-use holds for amenities someone is occupying—we'll cover the possibilities in the next section.
Configuration
QR code scanning works with the statuses feature. First, make sure you add the statuses feature to your content and choose which statuses apply to the QR code scan you're trying to set up.
For example, you might make an event with created, arrived, closed, and cancelled to track when someone registers for, arrives, and then leaves your shindig. Remember that you need to use the blue plus to add option for each status you want in your scanning flow.
Next, use the QR code scanning feature to add rules for what happens when you scan. Create your own rules with the blue plus below—when you scan a member, their status will automatically change based on the rules you choose. In our example, you'd scan them in to change their status from created to arrived.
If you want members to check in themselves, use the toggle for check in/out. This adds a check in and check out button to their reservation in Activate—all they have to do is hit the button when they arrive or use the amenity. To prevent people from forgetting to check out, you can use the auto update toggle to close out their status after a set period of time.
⚠️ Using end user check in/out disables the QR code on the reservation. |
