You can use QR codes in physical or digital media around your building to get people to check out content in the Activate platform. We'll show you how to generate your own codes and what the experience is like for members and non-members around the property.
Generating QR codes
You can use any QR code generator you like—there are free versions online if you don't already have a preferred tool. All you need to do is submit a URL to the generator, then download the image to use wherever you like.
To get a URL for a specific piece of content:
- Publish the content, if you haven't already.
- Go to the member view—it's easier if you're on web.
- Find the content, then click into it.
- Copy the URL in your browser.
When people scan
You can use the QR codes to drive engagement for events around your building. For example, if you've got a contest going, you can put up posters with the code you made to encourage people to participate.
When members scan, the QR code will take them straight to the piece of content you linked in their app. Here's every scenario:
- Members with the app will be taken straight to the content in their app.
- Members without the app will go to the content in their mobile browser. They might have to log in to see it, if they haven't already.
- If your channel is public, non-members will go to the content in their mobile browser.
- If your channel's private, non-members will be taken to their mobile browser, but they'll be prompted to sign up in order to see the content. If they're on iOS, they'll be prompted to download the app, too.
