Members can store their access credentials in Apple Wallet for easy tap and scan. We'll cover what it takes to get your property set up and answer some common questions.
Requirements
Here are a few things to know if you'd like to get set up:
- Right now, Apple Wallet works with HID combined with either AMAG, CCURE, Datawatch, Genea, Genetec, or LenelS2.
- VTS will work with HID to assess your reader capability and get your member experience created.
- We'll also help you with your specific integration to manage your members' mobile access credentials.
We've got plenty of documentation to help you through this process, so reach out to your partner at VTS if you're interested and want some more information. Here's a general outline of what you can expect, if you're looking to get set up at one of your properties:
- VTS walks you through the integration between Apple Wallet and HID.
- You'll fill out an HID survey for review.
- If you need to, upgrade and install compatible HID readers.
- You'll give VTS Apple Wallet Pass artwork for review.
- You'll also give VTS access control information for HID.
- VTS will let you know when onsite testing's ready.
- We'll also give you all the training and education you need when the time's right.

How does Activate handle multiple building access?
Right now, VTS supports one HID Origo account per access control system. Here’s two ways to make it work:
- The member has 2 passes on their phone, and Apple Wallet automatically picks the right one based on the HID reader’s MOB keys.
- The member has 1 portfolio-wide HID account, but they can only get passes to their primary building and its access control system.
Does Activate let people get access at the building and the tenant level?
Members need a separate pass for each level in their Apple Wallet. Apple Wallet automatically picks the right card based on the HID reader’s MOB keys.
Is there a portfolio-wide Apple Wallet Pass?
Not yet, but stay tuned.
Is there a pass for both my tenant and my building?
Not yet, but soon a user can use the same pass for both the building and for their individual suite.
How can I control which tenants get mobile access?
All your users exist in CCURE, but Activate only enables access for users with emails. You can control which tenants have mobile access by managing which users have email addresses in CCURE.
How do I migrate users from the HID Mobile Access app to Activate?
For privacy and security reasons, it's not really possible to migrate users from one app to another. Here are two solutions, depending on your situation.
From legacy HID (using an invitation code)
-
Property teams revoke all credential and invites to HID
-
Property teams reissue invitations
-
Property teams add new mobile credentials in CCURE
-
Users reconfigure their mobile access pass in Activate
Activate seamless access (bluetooth access)
-
