What is Whitelisting?

Whitelisting is a way to make sure everyone who joins a channel does so using an email address that belongs to a specific list.

This ensures:

Only users from the whitelisted email domains can join
Users can only join using approved email addresses (and not using personal email addresses like Gmail)

This helps identify where members are coming from, which helps admins better tailor information to their end users.

Whitelisting settings

Whitelisting is managed under Channel Settings > Profile > Settings.

Select the blue plus (+) symbol under Email filters and add one or more email domains, such as vts.com.

Result: Only users who have a @vts.com email address can sign up for the channel.
